PBT Group has an opportunity for Senior OBIEE Developers to assist with development work required on a tier-one Business Intelligence project.

Duties:

- Participate in the interpretation of business requirements and functional specifications as provided by the business analyst into BI solution designs
- Development of the Extract Transfer and Load (ETL) function using appropriate technology toolsets to get data into a data warehouse or data mart according to design specifications.
- Application of appropriate Master Data Management and Data Quality tools and techniques to ensure that consistent and quality data is provided to the data warehouse
- Assist with the design of the star-schemas and/or cubes for consumption by the Microsoft BI toolset.
- Design and develop reports, graphs, analytics, KPIs on the desktop and mobile platforms for analysis purposes in line with the business requirements
- Develop and maintain documentation (System Design / Requirement Specification, Source specification and test documentation)
- Assist in establishing accurate project timelines and development methodology
- Be able to take high-level tasks and break them into detailed actions and tasks to be completed
- Provide input to the overall project planning process by assisting in establishing accurate project timelines actions required and realistic timeframes for completion of those tasks and actions
- Participate in workshops with business owners and stakeholders in respect of clarification of detailed requirements and solutions to those requirements
- Deliver allocated project tasks and actions according to agreed quality and timeframes
- Ensure that detailed tasks and actions are allocated and completed to limit and mitigate risk within the allocated projects
- Develop training manuals, training plans and presenting training courses to support new solution implementations
- Develop and maintain technical specification development and environment migration documentation.
- Staying abreast of changes to analytical tools and methodologies

Experience:

Experience: Must have:
- 5+ years’ experience in a BI development environment using the Oracle BI (OBIEE) toolset.
- Must have 5 years’ development and administration working experience with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), OBIEE, BI Publisher and Essbase.
- Must have experience in the Kimball methodology
- Must be proficient in SQL and/or PL/SQL
- Knowledge of BI methodologies such as Kimball and Inmon
- Dimensional data modelling experience
- Experience in working with multi-dimensional cubes
- Agile project exposure

Advantageous:
- Proficient in at least one other BI toolset (QlikView, MicroStrategy, BusinessObjects, Tableau, Cognos etc.)
- Essbase experience would be advantageous
- Working knowledge on QlikView, SAS
- Working knowledge on Oracle APEX
- Experience of working in an agile development environment. Disciplined Agile Development (DAD) experience will be an added advantage
