Senior PHP Developer position is available with a great company in the Cape Town area. The client is looking for someone with strong experience in PHP, leadership characteristics, a self-starter with a high sense of urgency and a team player.

Responsibilities:
• Manage the day-to-day activities of the engineering team by defining, implementing and maintaining a coherent, progressive development strategy for our product line.
• Responsible for the over-all systems development life cycle
• Management and execution against project plans and delivery commitments

Qualifications and Experience:
• Degree or Diploma in IT Software Development
• Minimum 8 years development experience. Source code and example work MUST be provided.
• Development skills:
• PHP 5 (Expert)
• JavaScript / jQuery (Expert)
• HTML (Expert)
• MVC Experience required (CodeIgniter, CakePHP, Symfony, Laraval, etc.)
• MySQL (expert)
• Java (Bonus)
• C/C++ (Bonus)
• CakePHP or Laravel (Ideal)
• Mobile experience (Bonus)
• Design experience (Bonus)

System skills:
• Linux Intermediate (expert preferred)
• Networking and DNS (intermediate)
• Version control systems - CVS/SVN/Git (expert)
• CentOS/Fedora/RHEL (Bonus)
• High availability experience (intermediate)
• Agile development methodology
