- a driven web application developer with a desire to make the bits in the back-end tick
- love finding ways to make things better, faster, stronger
- capable of finding the beauty in the GUI but prefer command line when it comes to getting things done
- comfortable using MVC but constantly dreaming up a better solution.
- keen on getting your hands dirty on a busy live production environment
- not just looking for a standard 9 to 5 desk job
- comfortable in sticking it out in the trenches with a small but dedicated team in a startup environment.
Familiar tools in your toolbox probably include:
- Any Opensource orientated language as long as you have a willingness to learn and work with PHP on the LAMP stack
- Linux (you’ve done more than installing Ubuntu)
- Design patterns
- HTML5 + XHTML + JS
- XML
- JSON
- CSS2 & CSS3
- Databases
- Web Services
- Search technologies such as SOLR or Spinx
Your duties will involve but not limited to:
- Delivering next generation web applications
- Integration with 3rd party service providers
- Helping us build out our ground breaking API
- Optimising search and delivery of accurate data
- Develop and maintain existing systems to specification
- Managing and maintaining our infrastructure (we believe in dev ops, which means you know about grep)
