An engineering company located 180kms from Cape Town is in search of a Senior Planner to join their team. The successful candidate’s responsibilities will be to: coordinate the daily planning and control activities for all industrial processes within the facility; develop, implement and maintain a production tracking system; work closely with the procurement department to support the established Syspro procurement system and to assist in the coordination of procurement schedules; support all other functions and departments in determining appropriate levels of manpower requirements for the development of manpower acquisition plans; capacity planning & job routing; process planning, checks, evaluation, validation & modifications; job loading; manning requirements – multi-skilling & shift control; assist production with the development and implementation of improved production process; lead the daily production meeting; report – Labour & Machine efficiencies / utilization - calculations ; manage the day to day activities in the planning department; responsible for clocking in or signing in as per company procedures; checking and monitor own work; identify possible problem areas with regard to production and recommend or communicate improvements and solutions to Section Leader; responsible for consistently high quality of work being done; acts as member of the team and seeks ways of promoting team work; performs other duties as instructed by the Section Leader or management.
Key Requirements: ND / BEng Industrial Engineering or related. Minimum 2 years’ working experience/knowledge of Syspro; Minimum 5 years’ of work experience in an industrial production planning environment (experience in railway workshop planning preferred); driver’s license and own transport essential; Must be computer literate and able to use MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint software; experience with Syspro and planning within a manufacturing environment essential.

Remuneration: R420 000 cost to company per annum (dependent on experience)
