A leading international consultancy is looking to employ a Senior Project Manager for a hydropower project in Uganda. Key Responsibilities Assistance in Site inspection, Monitoring and Reporting (Overseeing the Owner's Engineer and the EPC Contractor); Testing, Commissioning and Operational Acceptance Knowledge Transfer to Client Staff The candidate will assist the TL in his responsibilities for ensuring the successful programme, quality and commercial delivery of the project. He/She shall be devoted to the review of the soundness of engineering studies and construction works including: design criteria, calculations and models; technical specifications; scrutiny of the construction philosophy for critical project components to ensure due diligence adherence to international quality standards; bolstering the supervision function during implementation; identifying areas for improvements in design and construction methods; quality control of the construction process in making the structures safe, robust and durable for the design life of the hydropower plant. Key Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience A University degree in Civil/structural/geotechnical engineering or related discipline; At least 10 years of relevant work experience in all phases of project implementation including planning, detail design, tendering, supervision and evaluation of laboratory and field tests in dam engineering, including safety assessments planning, and commissioning for construction works on large dam projects; Shall be affiliated to an internationally recognised professional body and hold a valid practising licence/certificate in their field of expertise. Experience in dam design and dam safety is essential.
