Senior Projects Manager -Electrical Engineering Field

MAIN PURPOSE
To ensure that all projects are executed accurately, within the project schedule requirements and within budget.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage the Integrated Solutions project management team.
• The function initially will not be pure management and the person would also be a project manager.
• Based on existing group systems and standards, create a project management system suitable for intergrated solutions.
• Create, implement and manage project management systems that will ensure harmonisation and standardisation across the company .
• Succesful management of all group integrated solution projects.
• Ensure that the customer contractual and technical requirements are met on all facets of each project.
• Planning for each project
• Cost control of each project
• Place orders internally with the group of cmpanies and Internationally and also dealing with sub-suppliers.
• Expedite delivery.
• Attend regular project udate meetings.
• Monthly reporting on all factes of all projects.
• Ensure that all equipment and products supplied meet the technical specifications that are specified.
• Creating reporting sustems where required as well as using existing reporting systems and thereby reporting monthly on all projects.

GENERAL
• To prescribe to the Company Procedure , including Signature Mandates.
• Must be able to operate office equipment including information management tools (Windows, Excel, PowerPoint and SysPro).
• A code 8 driver’s licence.
• A valid passport.
• Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
• Matric and a recognised tertiary qualification such as a National Diploma, B Tech or B.Sc.
• Project management experience in the electrical engineering industry and dealing with multi disciplinary projects.
o Must have managed projects with high vlaues
o Must have managed projects that include electrical products from several companies or several departments within a company
o Must have experience of project related negotions with the end user customer or EPC company
• Computer literacy – good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and MS Projects
• On occasion project requirements may necessitate travel to site wherever this may within South Africa or Sub Saharan Africa.
