Large Financial Institution has a permanent opportunity for a Senior SAP Basis Consultant based in Johannesburg, CBD.

Job Purpose:-

Responsible for the design, implementation and technical support activities required to maintain a SAP environment. The person will be required to work with programmers, analysts and consultants to ensure that technical specifications for reports, enhancements, interfaces and conversions are planned and implemented successfully. The person may participate in a number of projects that streamline processes and add functionality to the SAP implementation.

Required SAP Knowledge:

- Solid to extensive SAP Basis – K4 -K5 level
- Must have an in depth technical knowledge in SAP Change Management systems and best practices associated to Change Management.
- Must have solid knowledge in SAP architecture as well as have insight into a combination of Database, Network and OS architectures.
- Must have an understanding of SAP security models in regard to OS, Databases as well as Application security and assist with the implementation of these models from a Basis perspective.
- Must have a willingness to learn new methodologies and help assist in the design of newer, more efficient SAP models within the Basis team.
- Must have an attitude to manage/own issues that arise in the ‘day to day’ running of the business environments and more importantly to drive them to completion utilizing SAP best practices and documentation.

The incumbent must have the following interpersonal competencies:

- Good people skills especially in regard to liaising with management within the business.
- Have the ability to make decisions with overall cost and impact to business in mind.
- Have the ability to assist Business in making decisions which will drive a more manageable and securely implemented SAP environment.
- The ability to manage resources to complete day to day tasks as well as project deliverables on projects within the business.
- The ability to deal with an ever-dynamic infrastructure environment and come up with solutions which will help the environment growth.

Qualifications:-

- Matric / Grade 12 - essential
- Relevant Degree or Diploma would be an advantage
- SAP Certification would be preferable
