A well established mine is currently recruiting for a Senior Security Officer In the Pretoria area

Position Purpose:

The incumbent will be responsible to provide a comprehensive Security service to ensure application and adherence to all organisational security policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12
• National Diploma or Degree in Security Management or related field
• PSIRA registration – Grade B
• Valid Driver’s license
• Valid Firearm Competency Certificate for handgun, shotgun, rifle and carbine – please attach all certificates
• Computer Literate (MS Office Suite)
• 5 years’ working experience in Diamond security preferably in a mining environment

Responsibilities:

• Safeguard the Company and its employees/assets
• Investigate alleged offences in accordance with policies and procedures
• Conduct security risk assessments and audits
• Monitor and respond to high risk diamond processes and vulnerable areas
• Provide accurate reporting
• Design, manage and control shift rosters – including leave and transport of security personnel
• Supervise security personnel
• Implement strategies aimed at prevention of crime
• Monitor all applicable alarms/surveillance systems
• Manage high risk seal management system
• Ensure personal and co-workers adherence and compliance to Security and Company’s SHE objectives
• Required to work according to the Mine’s Code of Practice, and report any observations of this not being done
