Our client, a leading international Mining Group is looking for a highly experienced and qualified Senior Vice President Finance person to join their Finance team at the Platinum Division offices in Rustenburg in the North West Province.

The appointee should:
Be a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)
Have a professional registration with SAICA
Have at least 15 years’ experience in a related role, of which 7 should have been at a senior management level or experience in a functional/specialist area.
Demonstrate knowledge of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 (SOX) legislation passed by the U.S. Congress to protect shareholders and the general public from accounting errors and fraudulent practices in enterprise, as well as improve the accuracy of corporate disclosures.

NYSE Listing Requirements
Be able to apply visionary leadership to co-develop and implement strategy
Be able to understand different data sets to accurately consolidate financial data for management reporting and provide financial statements within the regulatory standards and required periods
Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk based medical examination at the relevant Sibanye Stillwater Occupational Health Centre

MBL or MBA

Key responsibilities include:

ESG Management:
Instill a culture of ESG leadership within the Financial Reporting discipline in line with strategic objectives

Quality Management System (QMS):
Comply with requirements of the Quality Management System

Expenditure:
Approve and manage operational expenditure within the operational plan and the Approvals Framework

Finance Strategy:
Formulate a strategy and an implementation plan for the Finance discipline in consultation with the Leadership Team
Lead implementation of a strategy and action plans for the Finance discipline
Plan strategically to improve overall business performance and align the Finance strategy with the business strategy, goals and objectives
Analyse qualitative and quantitative data required to inform a strategic Finance plan

Corporate Governance and Organisational Ethics:
Ensure adherence to the Approvals Framework.
Participate in the development of ethics codes and procedures
Ensure adherence with corporate governance and ethics guidelines and compliance with legal requirements
Comply with professional codes of conduct

Strategic Direction & Leadership:
Lead and drive the Finance disciplines and teams to achieve organisational objectives
Exercise effective strategic leadership on the Finance disciplines by being able to operationalize the vision and mission of the organization into realistic and challenging operational plans with sound and trendable control
Provide the leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure that the Finance disciplines have the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems in place to effectively meet the strategic objectives of the organization and to ensure financial strength
Provide strategic direction for the Finance disciplines to meet short to medium term business requirements
Assist in formulating the Company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives
Operate within the Delegation of Authority as approved by the Board and lead the day to day operational activities of the Finance disciplines

Stakeholder Relations:
Participate in the development of strategic stakeholder relationships to meet business objectives
