Complement Recruitment are searching for a Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) Service Manager from within the Automotive industry. After sales client product support management is a primary function in this role. A related tertiary qualification, as well as technical, after-sales management, production & assembly line experience, including quality, inspection, product & related in-house training certifications. Candidates must have their own reliable transport. This is a permanent position is based in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, candidates based in PE will be first option.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for identifying quality issues at plant level and ensuring their resolution and improvement before shipment to customers.
• Feeding reported technical issues from the aftersales department to relevant department within the assembly plant, to ensure rectification and improvement.
• Working closely with Customer Support to understand customer issues and to identify process or product changes that will result in enhanced customer satisfaction and assist dealer network and regional offices with efficient and quality aftersales support
• Assist Marketing Department with new model launch preparation where applicable.
• Production related responsibilities in terms of steering process improvement and ensuring documentation is published and relevant.
• Dealing with local parts adaptations and approval for compliance and regulatory purposes.
• Ensuring parts conformance, quality and compliance is adhered to from a technical and quality perspective.
• Obtaining standards as set out by the SABS applicable standards per vehicle category.
• Ensuring compliance to the set-out standards and Road Traffic Act.
• Acting as appointed product certification representative at plant level for NRCS related issues and team leader for audits.
• Attending automotive meetings regarding compliance of new vehicle technology and regulatory requirements
• Member of Technical Committee responsible for investigating, approving and implementing product changes, improvement and enhancements as per marketing requirements and customer expectations.
• Collect and study operational information and make recommendations of particular customer applications.
• Warranty trend analysis on a monthly basis in comparison with parts consumption, number of incidences and cost.
• Analyses of product failures to the root cause level and ensuring implementation of corrective actions, supplier audits and evaluations.
• Project Co-ordination and management to steer production equipment improvement through modification, new development or installations.
• Generating SOP’s, Visual Aids, Technical Requirements, etc. relating to Assembly Plant functions.
• Performing technical assessments and investigations as required to determine failure occurrence, resulting factors and suggested actions.
• Technical fault finding on reported problems within the assembly plant by means of Diagnostic interrogation, investigation and inspection.
• Meeting with suppliers to discuss product needs and requirements as per customer expectations.
• Implementing and managing in-plant projects in terms of procedures, process flow, training and equipment needs.
• Ensuring production tooling meets requirements and complies with operating criteria and application.
• Overseeing Quality Department Supervisory role, functions and responsibilities in times of absence.
• Compilation of applicable Management Control Systems documentation
• Workshop Quality control workshop in Road worthy centre, A-Grade Road testing station & Pre-delivery inspections on all vehicles including Test drive all vehicles before handing over to customer.
• Staff and Client Management
• WIP control

QUALIFICATION & SKILLS REQUIRED:
? Diploma/Degree in Operations Management / Quality / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or related;
? Red Seal / Trade Tested Artisan Certification advantageous
? In house certificates ie 5S, Lean, Six Sigma, CIP, Toolbox Training, SHE, NOSA etc highly advantageous
? Computer Literate – MS Office etc
? 5+ years automotive/commercial/technical diagnostic equipment applications & operations experience
? 5+ years experience in a senior manager role
