KEY REQUIREMENTS

Our client is currently looking for a suitably qualified but, more importantly, motivated and experienced person, with a strong technical background who is able to work well with people.

At least 10 years’ experience in the Boiler erection field
Must be able to read/erection/construction drawings
Must be quality conscious and must have a good understanding of T&IP’s and quality procedure
Must be safety conscious and have a good understanding of the current safety regulations and statutory requirements
A good knowledge of scheduling is essential
Computer literate with MS Project and Office

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee and be responsible for all demolition/erection activities on the boiler pressure parts, mechanical components, boiler ancillary equipment, fuel feeding equipment, steel work etc.
Control man hours allowed for erection, ensure all labour budgets are met or improved.
Update construction schedules and assist with drawing up of construction schedules? Maintain tools and equipment while on site
Ensure that all consumables and small tools are requested in time
Ensure correct and applicable standards of safety are adhered to
Ensure correct applicable standards of quality are adhered to, especially with regards to Boilermaking, Pipefitting, Fitting and Welding
Report all deviations from the scope of work timorously in writing to the Construction Manager and Project Manager
