The above positions exist in the Sales Team. The Site Support Engineer provides on-site technical support for key customers and must have the ability to influence through the construction build process on project sites within a sales region, working as part of an integrated regional team. The successful candidate will report to the Regional Sales Commercial Manager and amongst others, responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities

• Providing site based support, ensuring the delivery of practical, well-engineered solutions, meeting the design specification and commercial arrangements agreed by Technical Specifications Managers and Area Sales Managers and to , and validate and report on this process through CRM.
• Working with other team members to develop technical skills within the region, often acting as
• Mentor to less experienced colleagues.
• Strong technical report writing ability.
• Reporting and utilizing company commercial administration systems.
• Responsibility for safety aspects within area of responsibility.
• Managing product performance issues in-line with Company guidelines.
• Maintaining awareness of broader company's proposition to pass on potential opportunities presented.
• Strong focus on project management, building sustainable relationships to maximise market advantage ensuring KPI regarding specification vs orders are met.
• Ensure follow though from specification to order in line with KPI.
• Proactively identifying new opportunities for enhanced specifications, uncovering and understanding these through application of trained techniques, supply chain knowledge, commercial awareness and in depth knowledge of customers’ businesses.
• Achievement of local demand forecast in line with regional KPI.
• Work closely with Inland Regional Specification team with focus on follow through of Specsure Projects.
• Attend Habitat meetings giving timeous feedback when required
• Attend Regional Project meetings giving timeous feedback if and when required.
• Adherence to strict ethical codes of conduct and maintenance of confidentiality at all times
• Adherence to Company reporting procedure/commercial admin systems, offering appropriate feedback and information.
• Responsibility for safety aspects within area of responsibility
• Manage product performance and claim issues in-line with Company guidelines.
• Provide timeous input into management reports as and when required to Regional Specifications manager


Minimum requirements: Qualification, Skills and Experience
• Degree, Diploma or relevant industry qualification in construction/building disciplines is preferred or equivalent industry experience
• Matriculation, including English and Maths
• Driver license required code 08
• Needs to have “on the site” culture, be able bodied and energetic
• Good working knowledge of current design packages eg AutoCad
• Proven technical expert within their field - experienced architectural technician,
• Successful promotion of solutions /specifications
• Ability to identify innovative solutions
• Ability to interpret technical designs/drawings.
• Knowledge of construction process stages and ability to identify opportunities to improve efficiency within a customers’ construction programme.
• Understanding of current market legislation, eg SANS 10 400 and the Green Star rating System and the practical implications and impacts within a business.
• The ability to articulate a high degree of technical knowledge to key stakeholders (external and internal) to enable translation of opportunity into commercial benefit
• Supply chain awareness, understanding the process and identifying/targeting opportunities
