My client is looking for a Small holder farming manager to be based in Zambia.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Sole responsibility for local management of the Smallholder Farming Initiative.
  • Project organization with multiple partners, farmer organizations, other departments and external organizations (NGOs, local government authorities).
  • Timely coordination of all partner companies to ensure provision of appropriate inputs and services to growers in scope of the Smallholder Farming Initiative.
  • Close monitoring of farming operations, agricultural practices, training activities and financial flows between partners. 
  • Establish the link between the developers of the digital tool and the business requirements from smallholder farming in the country
  • Demonstrate the value proposition of our Portfolio and Integrated Solutions and the business model which must result in both an improvement of farmers’ income and livelihood as well as additional business.
  • Following successful implementation of the pilot project, scaling up of the initiative to increased number of farmers and broader area.
  • Support the analysis, creation and implementation of additional crop initiatives in Smallholder Farming communications and visibility of the Smallholder Farming Initiative.

Qualifications:

  • A university degree, Agricultural Background
  • English language fluency spoken and written in addition to fluency in the local language(s) is a must 2-5 years of related professional experience with previous experience in project management
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to relate well with people at different levels of authority and maintain excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
