Senior Human Resource Officer – early shift

JOB PURPOSE:

Reporting into the HR Manager, the purpose of this position is to be responsible for providing overall HR support to the business areas as well as ensuring that HR policies and practices are implemented in line with best practice and Group standards, and provision of high level HR advice and support on HR matters, general admin, staff induction and termination process and overall people support to Operations.
The incumbent’s key relationships will be: Operations, HR Central and the Resourcing Team.

Nightshift: operation is open from midnight to 2pm, HR hours of work are usually 4am to 1pm but the incumbent will need to be flexible to fit into the client’s operational hours for meetings or to that of the Company (9am-6pm) for any other requirements.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION REQUIRED:
• Completed or studying towards an HR Degree / Diploma
• Contact Centre / similar experience in a large workforce environment (e.g. retail / manufacturing)
• 3 – 5 years HR Generalist experience (non-negotiable)
• In depth knowledge of LRA, BCEA,SDA and EEA
• Strong IR experience
• Effective communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to make an impact across all levels of the organisation
• Great attention to detail, problem solving skills and planning and organisational skills
• Technical expertise including HR Information Systems
• Change Journey Leadership

KEY PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:
• Recruitment and Induction:
- Assists management with the development of Job Profiles and Specification
- Ensures all new employees are taken through an induction presentation
- Create Requisitions on Taleo recruitment system
- Monitor recruitment requisitions and monitor the full recruitment cycle process for nominated roles and facilitating communication with the resourcing department for vacancies and placement gaps
- Coordinate resources for assessment centres and participate in interviews and other appropriate activities

• Administration and Reporting:
- Completes all letters, contracts, benefits documentation in an accurate and timely manner
- Provides regular and thorough HR reporting back to the Head of HR and the Business areas as required
- Addresses all payroll issues in a timely manner
- Updates the HR systems with all relevant information
- Updates headcount and attrition reports and maintains an accurate staff list at all times
- Duplication of all processes and procedures within a full 24 hour, 7 days a week HR support structure

• Industrial and Employee Relations:
- Advises on and implements disciplinary processes as required and in accordance with legislation and company policy
- Supports and ensures preparedness of line management in disciplinary matters
- Documents and minutes the results of all disciplinary hearings
- Brings any out-of-line situation to management’s attention

• Performance Management:
- Advises and ensures implementation of performance management through the People Dimension System for all permanent staff and contract employees
- Rolls out HR initiatives as required for the Group HR and the Company
- Continuous alignment of job requirements within legislative parameters to best support Operations

• Employee Well-being:
- Informs line managers in respect of advisory services available to employees
- Coordinates wellness day activities
- Recognises new trends and patterns of behaviour and alters management

• Business improvement:
- Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement within the HR team, focusing on bringing best practice techniques to the operation by keeping up-to-date with current market information and HR practices.
