Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 and associated tertiary qualification.
• Secondary courses in Sales and Marketing advantageous
• Must maintain a valid Driver’s License.
• At least two years’ experience in the flooring environment or related industry will be an advantage.
• Experience in Supplier Relationship Management.
• Record of achievement in a prior sales position.
• Experience in the Architectural and Design community with established relationships advantageous.
• Computer literate with knowledge of all Microsoft Office Applications especially Excel and working knowledge of SAP.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Establishing, developing and maintaining business relationships with current customers, architects, engineers and prospective customers in the assigned territory/market segment to generate new business for the Company’s products and services.
• Makes telephone calls and in-person visits and presentations to existing and prospective customers.
• Maintain inventory by restocking shelves with point of sale products; observing inventory levels; prompting store management to reorder when levels appear low; arranging for return and credit for damaged products.
• Researches sources for developing prospective customers and for information to determine their potential.
• Develops clear and effective written proposals and quotations for current and prospective customers.
• Expedites the resolution of customer problems and complaints.
• Planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential customers, architects and engineers.
• Focuses sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of orders.
• Assists with customer orders by referring to price lists and product literature.
• Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports and weekly work plans.
• Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks.
• Provides historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales.
• Participates in trade shows and conventions.
