Purpose of Role:

The storekeeper in the hotel has the main responsibility to receive, store and issue supplies and equipment for the day to day hotel operations. They work closely with the purchasing department, ensure cleanliness of all work areas, keeping storage and receiving areas clean and tidy at all times.

He/she also verifies that all supplies and goods received are listed on requisitions/orders and the delivery notes / invoices are checked and filed in the appropriate folder. They maintain par stock, inventory and stock records every month.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
•Matric
•Understanding of the relevant HACCAP requirements
•Experience in a 5* hotel preferred
•Computer literacy – MS Office, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook
•Have the ability to handle a pressurised environment
•Must be able to work shifts and weekends
•Driver’s license is beneficial

JOB DESCRIPTION:
•Maintain a high standard of discipline and adherence to company procedures and required safety standards
•Take responsibility for all stock in the storeroom
•Placing of all orders as required from the relevant vendors
•Ensure that stock levels are correct
•Month-end stock counts – physical stock take as per company procedure
•Check pricing of stock items
•Carrying and/or moving goods
•Check and report on all stock variances
•Issuing of stock as required to the relevant departments
•Receipt of goods into the store ensuring that the correct items have been delivered according to the order placed
•Loading and/or unloading of vehicles and/or trucks
•Ensure that all relevant paperwork is in place and correct
•Quality control of stock received and issued
•Keep store neat, tidy and clean at all times
•Perform any other adhoc tasks as required by the relevant manager
