MAIN JOB PURPOSE
The Incumbent will be responsible to identify hosts for learner placement and match learners with hosts accordingly and management of learners on structured workplace with the host employer.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
1. Minimum of Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent
2. Certificate in Wellness or Social Work will be advantageous
3. Certificate in Office Administration will be advantageous
4. 3-5 years’ experience in social or community development
5. 1-2 years’ experience in workplace placement will be advantageous
6. 2-3 years’ experience in office administration
7. Experience in some of the following areas: - Marketing, Sales, HR, Management will be advantageous
8. Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport
9. Some experience in skills development
10. Must be willing to travel in and around greater Johannesburg area.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Allocation of resources
? Ensure that learners have all the relevant tools and equipment to perform duties in the workplace
? Ensure that host employers meet OHS requirement
Learner Profiling
? Conduct learner assessments prior to placing learners at workplace
? Interview each learner to build profile for suitable placement
? Perform Interview Session per Learner
? Perform Profile per Learner
Workplace Sourcing
? Source and place learner successfully with host employers
? Ensure learners are at reputable workplace environment
? Workplace should be ready for learner placements according to the roll out plan
? Ensuring all learners have all the relevant resources for facilitated workplace
? Advise the Campus Manager of venue challenges to ensure learner attendance, tracking and safety
? Control and monitor workplace and placements

Learner Management
? Facilitate learners on all Signa Academy placed at workplace
? Collaborate with relevant Signa and / or host employer management in dealing with HR issues and all emergencies
? Perform Site visits as required
? Adhoc site visits on request of host employer
? Conduct all required administration for learners placed at workplace
? Act as a liaison between host employee and Signa Academy
? Assist learners with challenges and if unable to resolve then refer these to Campus Manager
? Keep learners focussed on completing the Qualification
? Assisting Campus Manager to exit competent learners utilising different methodologies
? Ensure that Learner disabilities are reasonably accommodated, reported and monitored
? Conduct yourself professionally and ethically with all stakeholders and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, in particular labour legislation and POPI Act
? Learner wellness management
Mentoring & Coaching of learners
? Have one on one session with Learners as required
? Monitor and mentor learners in workplace, conduct disciplinary hearings, conflict hearings and resolution hearings.
? Review and assess learner progress in line with appropriate quality assurance
? Liaise with the project coordinator / authorized company representative with regards to learner attendance
? Management of attendance registers and submitting these to project coordinator / authorized company representative
? lnform project coordinator / authorized company representative with regards to learners who have a bad attendance record
? Ensure learners required to attend Friday at Signa are present
? Ensure that learner have completed the qualification, if not ensure that learners are at Signa every Friday until all remediations are completed
? Respect needs and opinions of the client and learners
? Refrain from discrimination on the basis of disability, race, religion or any consideration
? Take reasonable steps to ensure adequate protection of all confidential information including portfolios of evidence
? Work within an agreed contractual arrangement and in accordance with policies and procedures and the standard framework documents
? Liaise regularly with the project coordinator / authorized company representative
? Source new workplace venues.
? Conduct induction seminars
? Ensure all learners complete workplace
? Make recommendations where necessary

Reporting
? Assisting Campus Manager to report on all learners placed at workplace
? Record keeping of all learners placed at workplace
? Prepare detailed workplace reports:
? Submit meaningful and complete monthly report on all operations
? Liaise and report to company supervisors and management on a regular basis
? Gain consent for the report/s to be sent to the appropriate institutions in accordance with current, data protection legislation and as specified on the report
? Gain agreement from the Academy that the report is a true reflection of the workplace and assessment process and provide clarity on any areas of dispute
COMPETENCIES & SKILLS
• Basic counselling skills is a must
• Sound presentation and negotiation skills
• Ability to engage and interact with a diverse population
• Knowledge of how to handle people in problem situations
• Strong knowledge in disciplinary procedures
• An active understanding and interest in the Educational environment
• Have a good command in written and spoken English
• Ability to handle pressure
• Ability to diffuse a stressful situation and refer to Signa Academy Wellness Team where applicable
