Our client is looking for an incumbent to supervise network engineers and control and coordinate voice and data network group activities for , providing other teams within MIS with technical assistance to ensure maximum availability, reliability and security of the network as part of the company network. This position will also ensure the network performs to an acceptable standard.

The key duties and responsibilities of this position are:

? Monitor and coordinate MIS Voice and Data Network activities including but not limited to the Local Area Network, Wide Area Network, Wireless Ethernet, and IP Telephony ensuring the performance is up to internal and vendor service levels.

? Direct, perform and coordinate network related troubleshooting being performed by staff network engineers, to ensure issues are solved and handled in an accurate and timely manner, and determining the root cause of problems in order to find ways to prevent the issue from occurring again.

? Provide technical support to other groups within MIS, other departments, contractors, and public telecommunication providers on their network related systems to increase productivity in accordance to the Company’s goals.

? Liaise with the local telecommunication/network providers to ensure is getting the best support and the SLA is being met.

? Liaise with other groups, PMO, and vendors on assigned projects to ensure timely completion with the best quality possible.

? Develop, coach and motivate subordinate to enhance skill, knowledge and capability.

? Prepare and submit monthly report to MIS Management to provide details on network performance and projects.

The key challenges in this position include:

? Ensuring the network/telecommunication system is always available and reliable.

? Keeping abreast on new telecommunication and network systems/equipment.

? Maintain good relationship with other groups within the company, contractors, and telecommunication providers.

The background, education, and work experience needed to succeed in this job are:

Minimum Education and Experience

? Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering / Computer Science with 5 year experience in voice and data network field.

? Cisco certified CCNA minimum, CCNP preferred

Core Competencies (Knowledge & Skills)

? Good command of oral & written English, good computing and communication skills.

? Experience in operation and installation of Cisco equipment, including LAN switches and WAN routers. Experience with Cisco wireless technologies is a plus.

? Experience in operation and installation of satellite systems

? Experience in operation and installation of Windows servers (hardware and software)


The key areas in which this position has decision-making responsibility are:

? Prioritizing projects/installation activities to achieve departmental and Company objectives.

? Oversee installation, troubleshooting and break/fix activity by staff and in coordination with Domestic and International Service providers.

? Recommend and schedule outages for repair and preventive maintenance of Network/Telecommunication systems.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Work is mostly performed in an office environment, but it can also be performed in a mine or manufacturing plant or outdoor setting, or wherever there can be a need
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, talk, hear and see
Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 12 kg) during the course of the workday
Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing plant environment, including hart hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and other protective equipment as required
