Requirements:

• Matric
• Technical management course or equivalent on the job experience
• Previous venue management experience

Responsibilities:

Administration:

• Assist Regional Operations Manager with standards and counter checks of all venues related documentation.
• Give support to Regional Operations Manager
• Check and authorise quotations prepared by Venue Technical managers and staff.
• Where necessary, facilitate and assist administrators of the need to revise quotations to fit budget constraints or changed specifications.
• Monitor check and raise administration standards of the divisions

Financial:

• Assist Regional Operations Manager to develop systems for greater turnover and to achieve targets for the division.
• Realise profit margins by managing costs in the division, ensuring that all expenditure is authorised by him/herself and the individual
management (where appropriate).
• Attend and contribute to weekly Venue Technical Manager & financial meetings, where required

Clients:

• Broaden the client base and retain existing clients through excellent service with referrals to HO projects team.
• Up sell Events wherever possible for my client.

Business Development:

• Promote the Group to all Venues division hotel clients not currently utilising my clients services or products.
• Promote and encourage growth in the division.
• Follow up with venue clients who do not have equipment suppliers when booking a venue with the preferred supplier partners.

Reporting:

• Report back to Regional Operations Manager with regard to all occurrences which potentially or actually affect operations performance and
assist with the implementation of corrective measures.

Venues:

• Venue technical manager and support role during occurrences of leave and absence with regard to the continued stable operational
performance of individual venues.
• Research and identify problem areas of individual venues, assist Regional Operations Manager with the development and implementation of
improvement measures.
• Continued technical support for off-site supported venues in Venue Technical Management portfolio.

Operations and Quality Control:

• Assist in planning and scheduling of Venues confirmed jobs on a weekly basis and make sure that all relevant personnel and contractors are
aware of the schedule.
• Keep operations personnel updated regarding technical information.
• Confirm that any miscellaneous production issues such as casual labour, subhires, etc have been resolved.
• Liaise with and monitor the set-up, rehearsals and operation of each show to ascertain technical quality and client satisfaction.
• Solve any unforeseen onsite problems that may be beyond the capabilities of the personnel assigned to the show.
• Enforce safety standards at all times.
• Ensure that all jobs for the venue meet with the Venue/Hotel management’s expectations

Hire stock:

• Monitor equipment usage and make recommendations regarding adaptations to current stock holding to service the corporate market.

Personnel:

• Manage any venue allocated staff members, ensuring that they are employed in the positions most suited to their abilities.
• Encourage and accommodate training initiatives implemented by the National Training Officer.

General:

• Assist management with any other duties as may be required.
