Gender Male Age Range 22 - 32 Languages Required English Main Role To help teach and coach people of all ages and abilities to develop swimming skills, technique and confidence in the water. Required Academic & Personal Skills and experience 1. Level 1 Certificate for Coaching Swimming. 2. Min 3 years exp. 3. Enthusiastic and positive attitude towards swimming. 4. Good communicator. 5. The ability to inspire confidence and motivate swimmers. 6. Perseverance and patience. 7. The ability to encourage people and put them at ease. 8. An understanding of how to differentiate in a coaching session. Duties & Responsibilities 1. Plan and deliver lessons ensuring adherence to the scheme of work and lesson plans. 2. Ensure safe provision of all equipment and ensure it is used correctly. 3. Make sure safety standards are followed in sessions and undertake risk assessments. 4. Identify participants’ abilities and encourage them to reach their full potential. 5. Plan and deliver sessions appropriate to the level of swimmer. 6. Provide explanations and demonstrate swimming techniques. 7. Correct faults in swimming techniques and identify ways to improve performance. 8. To be a positive role model, creating a positive and fun environment in which to motivate and encourage children and adults to participate in swimming. 9. Set ground rules for each session 10. Evaluate sessions and give feedback. 11. Regularly assess each participant’s ability and progress and arrange for the award of the appropriate certificates. 12. To constantly update, manage and complete his registers. 13. Organize and supervise assistants and helpers as directed by the Swimming Coordinator. 14. Work alongside the Swimming Coordinator, other Swimming Teachers/Coaches. 15. Lifeguards to help ensure that participants are able to swim in a safe environment.
