Our client, a service provider in the CBD, is in search of a Systems Administrator.

The successful candidate will be working as part of a highly skilled and dynamic company that builds and supports applications in a technically exciting and challenging industry. The candidate will be expected to install, maintain, test, document and support the organization's IT systems within our Linux environment

Required experience:
Virtualisation (KVM/ OpenStack/ XEN/ AWS/ Hetzner): 2 years
Monitoring Systems (Cacti/Nagios/ Zabbix): 2 years
Orchestration and Provisioning (Puppet/ Chef/ Foreman/ Spacewalk):2 years
Databases (MySQL/ MySQL cluster/ Replication/ Postgresql): 2 years
Storage Technologies (SAN/ NAS/ iSCSI / Fibre Channel): 1 year
Scripting (E.g. Perl, Bash, Python, etc.): 2 years
Linux Desktop & Server (CentOS/RedHat, Ubuntu, Debian) 3 Years

Duties will include but are not limited to:
The effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation and maintenance of systems hardware, software and related infrastructure.
Control and verify system backups and file archiving, ensuring all required file systems and data are successfully backed up to appropriate media, media is stored, and recycled.
Strong support knowledge (Create, change, and delete user accounts per request, Hardware & Network Troubleshooting).
Investigate and troubleshoot issues.
Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
Train, guide and advise users in the appropriate and efficient use of the IT infrastructure.
Strong knowledge on Internet solutions. e.g. I.P Ranges, DHCP, DNS fundamentals etc.
Experience within a helpdesk environment and helpdesk software. e.g. Redmine
Undertake other duties not specifically stated which from time to time are necessary without altering the nature or level of responsibility.
