A well-established company is seeking the expertise of a Systems DBA (Johannesburg).

Minimum Requirements
• A relevant Information Technology Tertiary qualification or NQF equivalent
• Minimum 4 years DBA experience (Oracle, SQL)
• Sound knowledge of RDBMS such as SQL Server and Oracle
• Oracle and SQL certification will be an added advantage
• Project Management skills
• Knowledge of windows server platform
• Knowledge of Linux server platform will be an added advantage
• Minimum 3 year’s user support experience
• Minimum 3 years Application Administration/Support
• Sound communication skills with management, development teams, vendors, systems administrators and other related service providers

Key performance areas
• Create and maintain all databases required for development, testing and production usage
• Manage core applications in a production, training and development environment
• Perform the capacity planning required to create and maintain the databases
• Perform ongoing tuning of the database instances
• Install new versions of the Oracle/SQL server RDBMS and its tools and any other tools that access the Oracle database
• Plan and implement backup and recovery of the Oracle/SQL server databases.
• Implement and enforce security for all of the Oracle/SQL server databases.
• Perform database re-organisation as required to assist performance and ensure maximum uptime of the databases
• Administer all database objects, including tables, clusters, indexes, views, sequences, packages and procedures
• Perform any other duties that may arise in the ICT department
