My client in Parktown is looking for a Networking and Communications Specialist to provide them with support in the networking and communications function.The day to day operational function for this position includes the managing and administering of the backup environment.  There is also a focus on SCCM, SQL, Microsoft Servers and Networking.

• Review logs on a daily basis to determine job status.
• Ensure there are sufficient tapes in all libraries
• Creation or updating of build scripts, installation and support guides.
• Backup of all servers according to our policies is an important aspect of this function.
• Closing of calls on a timely basis (typically related to restores in this instance)
• Quick escalations to Symantec if problems cannot be resolved and inform the national network manager of problems ASAP
• The overall health of servers are crucial to the successful operations
• SCCM: pushing patches, administration, configure and install
• Effective management of the storage environment is part of the backbone of the server environment and cannot be compromised. Level headed thinking is required at all time to ensure successful operation of this environment.

• Relevant Enterprise experience
• Symantec Backup Exec or Symantec NetBackup experience
• About 1 year plus experience using SCCM (troubleshoot, configure and install)
• Dell Management tools experience
• Windows Server 2008 or 2012 experience
• Current MCSE/MCITP
• ITIL Foundation Course
• Cisco CCNA would be advantageous
• 3-5 years experience in an infrastructure support role
