Exciting opportunity exists for a Team Leader: Sourcing.
Johannesburg – R 584 000 p/a (Contract)

Purpose:
To facilitate the sourcing of goods and services for the Organisation in compliance with Supply Chain Management Policies and Procedures.

Qualifications, Experience & Training:
National Diploma in Supply Chain Management or equivalent
5 years’ experience in supply chain management, of which 2 years is at a supervisory level
Training on the procurement system (ACCPAC)
Training on MS Office
Training in Public Procurement

Job Description:
• Receive requests from end users and allocate requisitions to the various officers
• Monitor that the minimum number of quotations for the procurement of goods and services
• Maintain a supplier database
• Perform functional evaluations on quotations received and the price and preference and prepare evaluation report for submission to the Manager: Procurement for approval
• Coordinate the creating of purchase orders for submission to the supplier/s and end user
• Monitor that goods and services have been delivered in accordance to purchase order
• Facilitate the payment of the suppliers in conjunction with Finance
• Ensure that stock levels for inventory are aligned to inventory management policy and procedures
• Manage the monthly stocks takes to ensure no stock is obsolete, damaged or lost and therein in line with stock level on the accounting system
• Provide guidance to business units on supply chain practices, policies and procedures
• Ensure adherence to PPPFA, PFMA and other relevant regulations
• Train staff on supply chain management best practices
• Input into the drafting of Supply Chain policies and procedures
• Provide advice on bid specifications and evaluations
• Maintain project files of all sourcing documentation for ease of retrieval for audit purposes
• Conduct regular meetings with the suppliers to evaluate supplier performance in terms of the contract
• Prepare an evaluation report and submit to the Procurement Manager
• Perform corrective actions on supplier non-performance and escalate to the Procurement Manager when required
• Conduct industry analysis to ensure adequate suppliers are available
• Identify suppliers to meet the demand for goods and services and develop supplier skills and capacity in order to meet the requirements of the Organisation
• Produce monthly supply chain reports on sourcing activities for submission to the Procurement Manager for review
• Produce and submit ad hoc supply chain reports to the relevant stakeholder, as and when requested
• Input into the production of quarterly supply chain reports for submission to the Finance and Risk Committee, Audit Committee and Governing Body
• Develop Performance Contracts for subordinates and ensure all work is completed in compliance with the performance contract and corporate processes
• Review performance on a formal and informal basis and ensure that subordinates have adequate resources to perform optimally
• Make recommendations to the Procurement Manager to recognise and reward good performance through various formal and informal mechanisms
• Mentor and coach team members in order to address gaps and sub-standard performance
• Conduct career discussions and identify opportunities for future development and continuous improvement.
• Identify employees with potential and develop career paths for employees in finance
• Foster employee commitment and loyalty through active engagement with individual team members
• Keep abreast of own development needs and actively seek opportunities to improve own management style
• Manage and leverage the skills of the team in allocating work
• Conduct regular scheduled team meetings to discuss updates, process improvements, process changes, and open issues affecting the team
