Technical Buyer

Our client requires the services of a Technical Buyer in their Procurement Department who will be reporting to the Procurement Manager. Responsible for the procurement of commodi-ties for all departments of Cape Town Division as well as assist the group Divisions when nec-essary, endeavoring to purchase the correct quality at the most cost-effective price using best purchasing practices.

Key performance areas:
? Drawing up of Schedule Agreements / Service Level Agreements
? Source and purchase technical spares and consumables at lowest cost to company prices
? Responsible for investigating and implementing savings
? Expediting & liaising with relevant staff regarding lead times and substitutes
? Responsible for reporting on function and maintenance of data

The successful candidate must have:
? Matric (Gr. 12) with a Relevant Tertiary Qualification
? 5 Years experience in large-scale procurement
? Excellent knowledge of engineering spares / marine (experience will be advantageous)
? Computer literacy – MS Office and SAP
? Good administration skills
? Good interpersonal skills and integrity as a buyer
? Excellent negotiation skills and a proven track record in obliterating targets
? Ability to work in a fast paced environment, under pressure and do many tasks simultane-ously
? Accurate and great attention to detail
