We’re looking for a Technical Manager (fruit industry). You will be responsible for guiding and supporting the producers, as well as assisting with quality, technical and compliance matters.

Job Description:

* Managing quality control pre- and post-harvest.
* Providing feedback to producers on quality of product (fruit) on arrival at the market.
* Communicating specifications and technical arrangements and requirements of the products.
* Providing support with the implementation of food safety accreditation systems and customer-specific standards.
* Assisting with the management of insurance claims and other documentation.
* Monitoring packhouse requirements to specifications.
* Ensuring correct packaging requirements are adhered to.
* Initiating and driving chemical programmes.
* Advising and guiding on fertilizer programmers, promoting quality and yield.
* Consulting on irrigation options and advising accordingly.
* Communicating with customers to establish their specifications, packing requirements and due diligence needs.
* Assisting and advising packhouses with practical queries regarding specifications.
* Assisting the commercial team to analyse the requirements of client and help with the practical implication thereof on packing plans.
* Managing and coordinating farm managers and packhouse logistics.
* Communcating with commercial team regarding crop estimates, weekly forecasting, quality and production planning.
* Attending to customer complaints.

Requirements:

* BSc Agric degree.
* 5 years’ experience working with fruit for the export market.
* Global-Gap experience.
* Fully proficient in the English/Afrikaans languages.
* Good rapport with growers.
* Willing to travel (locally and internationally).
