Job Description
Operating systems- Following the guidelines and structures as outlined by the system
Providing continuous input towards the improvement and optimisation of the system
Supporting the Structure phase of projects- Planning and managing project resources and ensuring the tasks are completed and delivered in line with the plan schedule
Ensuring all technical documents are considered and completed according to the Grid code
Managing and interfacing with contractors, utilities and suppliers to establish and negotiate/maintain/align all technical aspects of the project
Provide and leading with assistance to the Project Manager to complete project document, not only relating to the technical aspect.
Review EPC and contractor proposals for technical compliance
Establishing timelines and schedules based on the project schedule’s and contracts to ensure a successful interconnection, commissioning and grid code compliances
Assisting business development to obtain all projects permits & licencing
Supporting supply chains in the establishment and specification of the spare parts listing to be delivered after execution is completed.
Managing the process to complete the technical schedules of the relevant project contracts
Preparing formal requests, responses or clarification towards contractors & consultants
Managing the technical scoring and evaluations of all bids, equipment and contractors
Leading and managing the technical due diligence processes towards the LTA
Assisting the project manager to establish and minimalize technical risks through an effective and updated risk register
Ensuring all technical parameters in the project documents are incorporated in the final project design
Support to the projects in delivery and execution- Ensuring all detailed engineering designs are implemented according to the project design
Managing and assessing the design change requests which needs to be improved by the Lead Engineer
Monitoring and assessing the work performed for compliance, quality and deviations to identify risks in advance
Providing full technical support at all times to the manager and team
Planning and managing technical resources through the different project stages to ensure resources is available when needed and notified in advance as required
Interfacing with project stakeholders to ensure technical compliance are maintained and achieved as required
Contributing to the drafting of relevant project reports (Monthly)
Attending and supporting the project meetings with contractors and utilities
Establishing, managing and co ordinating the plant commissioning and utility compliance plans and procedures
Overseeing the RFI approval processes to ensure high quality standards are established and maintained
Supporting the project close out phase by preparing and gathering technical documents as needed to achieve TTO
Minimum Requirements
Degree or relevant tertiary education in Electrical or Electronical Engineering
Degree in Electro Mechanical / Mechanical Engineering
Around 10+ years engineering experience, of which must consist of 5 years’ project environment experience
3-4 Years distribution and reticulation experience including years projects/processes management experience
Exposure to sub stations of High Voltage Networks and Utility scale’s PV project execution (Preferred)
3-4 Years renewable energy experience highly advantageous
Engineering Master’s Degree (Preferred)
Project Management Certificate advantageous
Advanced MS Office skills
Valid driver’s licence
Available to travel internationally (3rd world developing countries)
