Salary: R35-45K Negotiable depending on experience

Complement Recruitment are recruiting for a Technical Sales Manager within the Automotive & Motor Industry to be based in Port Elizabeth. Previous experience within the motor industry, technical specifications of motor vehicles, heavy duty and vehicle parts/specification knowledge is essential

Duties & Requirements:
• Specialize in selling technical services and specifications to set us apart from competitors.
• Requires someone passionate about the tech industry, as well as being technically minded and able to use advanced Excel and other CRM’s and SAP etc management systems
• Work directly with senior management of the company selling its suite of products and be an expert in the technical services and spec’s of said product portfolio.
• The role of technical sales manager is a permanent management position. Ascending to this role requires proven success as a technical sales representative and managing staff.
Work with Senior Management on Sales Strategy
• The technical sales manager will work with senior management to create a sales strategy based on market research, competitor and sales data. Including creating a sales pitch / strategy that every sales representative can use as a guide.
• Train and Develop junior staff and representatives – can do attitude, team player moral
• Responsible for grooming your team of sales associates. This duty includes sitting in on the interview process and onboarding new hires, covering things such as product knowledge and sales strategies.
• Conduct Product Presentations - must have a thorough knowledge of the product or service being demonstrated to convey benefits and answer questions accurately.
• Analyze Employee Sales Productivity to Make Strategy Decisions
• Present Sales Reports to Senior Management
• Technical sales managers are in constant communication with senior management. They create reports based on sales data at regular intervals and present the data in a way that helps senior management make clear decisions.
Knowledge & Skillset
• Experts on automotive parts and / or technical service and be tech-savvy to conduct product demonstrations. In addition to technical knowledge, must possess leadership qualities.
• Possess an analytical mind to make meaning out of sales data.
• It is their responsibility to determine the key performance indicators for a given sales campaign, monitoring each employee’s productivity to make sure the team is meeting or exceeding the key performance indicators. They should use this data to make strategic decisions, such as hiring, firing, or making tweaks to the sales pitch.
• Mastering technical features of products and services being sold
• Using client relationship management software to track and analyze sales productivity
• Training and coaching team to be great sales people and customer service driven
• Conducting product demonstrations using public speaking, negotiation and sales skills
Education and Training
• Minimum 5 years automotive / motor industry technical sales experience.
• Matric & Related Technical Qualifications ie Diploma/Degree/Trade Certification
