Technical Specialist – Certification Reviewer

NSF is a leader in Food Safety certification in the Food Industry. The Africa head-office is based in Stellenbosch but operates throughout the continent. We would like to expand our team with the addition of a Technical Specialist to assist with technical reviews of certification audit reports.

Priniciple Accountabilities:
• Conduct quality assurance technical reviews of food safety related audit reports.
• Conduct decisions on certification.
• Collaborate with audit and support teams to facilitate timely turn-around of audit reports and identify areas of overall process improvement.
• Assist in maintaining auditor qualification, certification, and training documentation databases

Qualification Requirements:
• Degree in a food science or public health related discipline
• A minimum of three (3) years of food safety industry experience in a quality related role
• HACCP training to at least intermediate level
• Working knowledge of current recognized food safety standards and practices in use (e.g. BRC, FSSC 22000, ISO 22000)
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

The following would be advantageous:
• Working knowledge of ISO Guide 65
• Experience in conducting QA audits within a food facility
• Lead Auditor qualification
