POSITION : Finance Manager – (3 Month Temp)
DIVISION : Finance
LOCATION : Sandton

1. Financial accounting
• Review reconciliations, resolving problems arising
• Ensure all provisions and accruals are raised
• Compile and co-ordinate monthly, quarterly, and year end reports to management, board and its committees and national treasury.

2. Tax Pack
• Prepare income tax, royalty tax computations for provisional tax and return submissions
• Liaise with South African Revenue Services and with corporate consultants on tax queries.
• Ensure adherence to tax procedures and legislation.
• Ensure adherence to VAT procedures, legislation.

3. Ensure Compliance To Legislation / IFRS
• Interpret and implement new legislation, accounting procedures, polices and IFRS.
• Liaise with staff to ensure compliance.
• Continuous review of policies and procedures

4. Control General Ledger
• Check and authorise journals
• Authorise month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Liaise with internal and external auditors during audits
• Review and implement system changes, policy and procedure changes
• Review the payroll
• Investigate and resolve problems on payroll related accounts
• Prepare payroll related journals and verify payroll transactions for correctness
• Inventory costing

Minimum Qualification Requirements
• CA (SA)

Related Experience
Minimum 3 - years’ experience in finance department in a senior role (mining experience advantageous)

• Ability to work unsupervised, self-starter
• Financial aptitude
• Excellent excel knowledge
• IFRS knowledge
• Tax, PFMA, national treasury regulations and other legislation
• Communication skills
• Internal controls
• Knowledge of SAP advantageous (not essential)
