An International Citrus Fruit Farming Company is looking for a dynamic, energetic TRAINEE PRODUCTION MANAGER for their business unit in LYDENBURG, MPUMALANGA to start a 2 year in-service training program. The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, high standards, excellent communication ability and the ambition to grow with this organisation. A Tertiary qualification in Agriculture related to the field of Citrus farming essential. Knowledge of the Citrus farming and the Agri Industry will be an added advantage. Must be willing to relocate.

Position Overview:
The Production Management Trainee is responsible for developing comprehensive knowledge of plant operations and manufacturing processes.

Qualifications and knowledge required:
• Tertiary Agriculture qualifications essential;
• Experience in the cultivation of citrus (Advantageous);
• Good knowledge on the establishment, care and production of citrus;
• Effectively planning and organising skills;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• Strong leadership skills and work confidently in a group;
• Problem-solving capabilities;
• Excellent time management;
• Computer literate;
• Self-managing; works well under little supervision;
• Highly motivated and enthusiastic;
• Good interpersonal skills, and good listener and communicator;
• Process oriented;
• Eagerness to learn; and
• Be a team player and support the Company's goals.

Responsibilities:
• Develops a comprehensive knowledge of Company products and procedures through on-the-job training activities;
• Develops a comprehensive knowledge of panel and lumber grades;
• Develops knowledge of lumber math and efficient utilization of materials; develops full understanding of cuts and yields;
• Learns how to operate the Company's business system in order to perform required administrative functions;
• Develops detailed knowledge of product costing;
• Develops understanding of the production scheduling process;
• Develops working knowledge of the budget and expense control process;
• Supervises activities consistent with all Company policies, procedures and applicable laws and regulations;
• Develops working knowledge of Continuous Improvement, efficiency standards, and safety;
• Develops working knowledge and understanding of Human Resources policies and practices;
• Develops detailed understanding of operations by touring other UFP facilities and customer locations;
• Completes courses and assignments as directed;
• Prepares various reports as required; and
• Performs other duties as required.
