Position Summary
Assisting in the minimization of SHE related risks through ongoing identification of hazards and risks. To raise the level of SHE awareness within Natref Operations and assist in preventing incidents.

Required outputs: Functional

•Conduct plant inspections and intervene / prevent at-risk behaviors and unsafe conditions
•Audit permits and task risk assessments
•Report on compliance to Safety rules to the Supervisor SHE Practitioner: Occupational Safety (e.g. PPE compliance, BBS, near misses)
•Support Natref SHERQ during an emergency as floor controller or as part of the emergency fire team (as required)
•Assist Natref SHERQ with the roll-out of SHE campaigns and internal audits as required
•Assist with the audit of Service Providers SHE Files and Plans as required
• Work shifts on shutdowns or breakdowns and do standby (callouts) as required

Job Requirements
•2 years plant or maintenance related exposure / knowledge
•Knowledge and the application of SHE legislation ( OHS Act )
•Knowledge of management systems / content / rules (ISO 9001 & 14001 & OHSAS 18001, SHE Procedures, BBS, PSM).
•Knowledge of Risk Based Approach to SHE. (Risk Assessments, Permit to Work)
•Grade 12 / Std 10 (must)
•SHE Representative courses
•SHE management course (SAMTRAC)
•Permit to work (must)
•Hazard identification and responding to risks (must)
•Studying towards a National Diploma in Safety Management (strong wish)
•Hazard identification and responding to risks (must)
