Transport Controller – East London

Educational Requirements:
Matric (Must have)

Experience Requirements:
At least 4 years relevant experience
Must be well spoken
Must be computer literate & proficient on Microsoft office including Excel
Must have experience in supervising staff
Good knowledge of vehicles
Basic mechanical understanding
Own transport

Responsibilities:
Ensure emails are checked and responded to timeously
Report any drivers off route
Ensure all drivers debriefed according to load plan vs trip sheet, vs actual tracking movement report
Timeous tracking of vehicles out on delivery
Checking vehicles and reporting back on issues / defects and capturing if there are
Maintain & update records for any overtime worked as well as reasons
Ensure no unscheduled stops
Ensure key register corresponds with drivers notice board
Ensure vehicles are locked and keys are packed away
Supervising drivers and handling any discipline issues
Assist with refuelling at night when needed
Ensure that in the case of an accident or breakdown – proper procedure to be followed
Debriefing all trips sheets and comparing with tracking – replays to be done
Ensure trips sheets are completed correctly
Record diesel slips and calculate on debriefing sheets
Completing fuel consumption report
Regularly reporting on incidents, fuel consumption and real time
Ensure reports (flo, utilisation, delivery manifest) are pulled daily and used to save cost and pick up problems
Compiling route sheet, dispatch sheet, breakdown report, sleep out schedules etc.
Capture trips on excel and delivery manifests
Assist with POD debriefing, capturing, batching & scanning (ensuring correct delivery date captured)
Assist with Line haul dispatching
Must be attentive to detail, reliability and customer service
General admin is done & up to date

Must have own transport and a valid license
Must be willing to write numeracy & literacy assessment
Overtime may be required to work outside of normal working hours
