Urban Development Specialist (Contract Administration)
A global leading engineering consultancy with over 65 years’ experience specialising within the Civil Engineering sector is seeking to employ an Urban Development Specialist with extensive experience in Contract Administration and Design to be permanently based in Durban. The successful candidate should be registered with Engineering Council of South Africa as a Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.)
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Must have a BSc Degree in Civil Engineering. A postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage
Must be registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.)
Must have at least 20 years’ practical experience of Contract Administration and Design in the Urban Development discipline
Must have a strong track record in terms of GCC of working as designer and engineer on private and municipal sector developments (water, sewer, utilities, earth-works, roads)
Must have extensive knowledge of analysis methods and engineering design issues
Must have thorough knowledge of Quality Assurance
Must have exhaustive knowledge and understanding of obligations under current SMEC MS
Must be proficient in contractual matters with regards to construction
Must have comprehensive knowledge of engineering materials and their function
Must have extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and OHS
Must have excellent technical report writing skills
Must be able to manage all risks involved in the project and insure successful results
Must be able to manage and direct a team
