My client is a JSE Listed, multinational company within the long term Insurance and Financial Services sector, looking for a Valuations Actuary for their innovative team to assist the statutory actuary.



Qualification:

BSc in Actuarial Science



Skills & Experience:

Must have Experience in Financial Modelling (Software such as Risk Agility, SQL, SISS and Prophet would be advantageous)

Minimum 4 years’ experience in the Life Insurance sector, doing valuations and business modelling

Brilliant Microsoft Excel, word as well as PowerPoint skills

A Good Knowledge of both international and local actuarial and financial reporting standards, Legislation and Practice

Good Business acumen

Must be familiar with guidance information from the Actuarial Society of South Africa



Job Description:

Provision and checking of input on proposed valuation bases

Checking and improving Capital Adequacy Requirements (CAR) and other capital calculations

Reserves’ calculations on the IFRS and statutory basis

Lending support to African Companies with Business information requests and engaging with management to provide actuarial insights

Checking capital Projections

Ad-hoc support to the Group

Liaison with colleagues and stakeholders form various departments such as Asset management, Marketing, Products and the Accounts Department
