Value Added Services' Manager required for a Mobile Network Operator based in Rosebank, JHB

Key aspect of this role is as follows:

Strategic Planning:
• Keep abreast of local and international industry activities, changes and trends
• Develop a detailed strategic plan for business line with specific measurable objectives and implementation plans to ensure that objectives are met
• Communicate relevant information regarding strategy to appropriate staff members
• Will be required to secure and allocate all resources necessary to support business unit plan including finances, people, technology, operations, marketing, administration, systems etc

Financial Management:
• Develop a financial strategy as part of the strategic plan with specific measurable objectives and targets
• Manage the financial budget as allocated through monitoring, controlling and reporting systems
• Business Development:
• Develop a Business Development (Marketing) Strategy as part of a strategic plan with specific measurable objectives and sales targets and implementation plan
• Develop new business leads, open up new sources of business and close sales
• Build potential new relationships and maintain existing relationships with clients
• Will need to ensure that systems and procedures are in place to keep accurate records of all business development activities i.e. Electronic Database

People Management:
• Attract and retain staff as per strategic business unit needs and maximize return on investment
• Manage employee relations to minimize risk by balancing business needs with legal compliance

Operational Management:
• Ensure that the strategic plan is implemented through effective management of all aspects of the business line/s under control
• Develop specific business line targets and manage the achievement of these
• Ensure that the systems and procedures are in place to monitor and control all necessary business line activities and services

Strategic Alliances and Stakeholder Liaison:
• Create and maintain strategic alliances with appropriate new local and international business partners and suppliers
• Review and develop strategic alliances with existing or old business partners and suppliers to ensure achievement of objectives
• Develop a communication strategy as part of the strategic plan with specific measurable objectives and targets of the implementation plan
• Build and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders, including: shareholders, staff clients, suppliers and business partners
• Build and maintain a corporate image that supports the business strategy
• Ensure Customer Satisfaction through effective systems and procedures and problem solving

COMPETENCIES

Qualifications

• Must have a tertiary qualification in Business, IT or Engineering

Specific Skills (Technical):

• Must have a minimum of 10-years experience in Mobile and MNO VAS
• Must have experience in New Business Development in Africa or Asia
• Experience in Client and Supplier Management
• Project Management experience
