One of our client in the Conservation Sector based in Johannesburg is looking for a Veterinary Manager with creative, innovative and strong leadership skills, good analytical skills, strategic thinker and experienced in the wildlife environment.

Job Description:
• Implementing comprehensive preventative medicine programme for all species in the Conservation Areas;
• Initiate and participate in Veterinary related Conservation and Research project including publications;
• Compliance with the regulatory requirements of the South African Veterinary Council (SAVC), SHEQ, MFMA and JCPZ’s Supply Chain processes;
• Manage procurement processes and dispensing of animal medication and feed in line with policies and procedures;
• Management of animal kitchen activities, pest control and hygiene activities;
• Compliance with Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001) and all legislation that governs the day to day operations of Veterinary Unit, Animal Hospital and kitchen.
• Identification, evaluation, mitigation and reporting of risks that could impede the attainment of strategic objectives of the Operation and Conservation Areas;
• Manage veterinary staff to maximize efficiency, productivity and job satisfaction combined with the appropriate training;
• Responsible for Monthly, Quarterly, Mid-term performance reports of the Veterinary Units;
• Responsible for development and annual reviews of Veterinary protocols and procedures.

Required Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor Degree in Veterinary Science;
• Post graduate qualification would be an added advantage;
• Registration with South African Veterinary Council (SAVC).
• Five (5) years proven extensive Managerial experience at a senior level in Wildlife environment.
