A company in the complementary health market is seeking a Warehouse Pharmacist Assistant to join their team (report to Responsible Pharmacist). Duties will include: assistance with ‘out of specification’ of incoming stock for conformance to QC Specifications; sample stock for QC and Retention; report non-compliances; data capturing as necessary; monitoring receipt of Returned Goods from Customers into Distribution Warehouse; ensure returned goods are stored in correct location and storage conditions; inspect returned stock for conformance and report non-conforming stock; determine returned goods quality status to approve or reject their return to stock; ensure that quality and process standards in the warehouse are adhered to; management of warehouse deviations, reporting any discrepancies and ensuring corrective actions (CAPA) are taken; ensuring GWP is followed; assist with quality, internal and supplier audits pertaining to the warehouse; assistance with investigating technical complaints and implementation of corrective actions; ensure damaged stock is disposed of as per waste disposal process; assistance with regulations and guidelines pertaining to the Wholesale license for medicinal products and Good Wholesaling/Distribution, Good Housekeeping Practices and Good Pharmacy Practice; ensure health and safety regulations are adhered to; assistance with quality related SOP writing; training to relevant staff in the warehouse; perform daily warehouse inspections to evaluate the level of compliance; distribution and checking of cleaning records; ensure that cleaning/sanitation chemicals have material safety data sheets (MSDS); perform daily monitoring of environmental conditions in accordance with procedures; ensure FIFO/FEFO stock rotation is followed; ensure proper filing of all quality documentation; prepare reports to management; provide efficient quality assurance support service with regards to medicine recall or withdrawal.
Key Requirements: Grade 12 and relevant Pharmacist Assistant qualification. Post Basic Pharmacy Assistant Registration (SAPC). 3-5 years relevant experience within pharmaceutical distribution/ Manufacturing/Logistics/Warehousing environment. Good Warehousing Practice/Good Manufacturing Practice training an advantage. Preference will be given to EE candidates.
Additional Requirements: Sound knowledge of QA and QC fundamentals. Implementation experience of quality standards is essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Time management and organisational skills. Strong computer literacy skills. Excellent problem solving/decision making skills and attention to detail. Accuracy. Numeracy. Able to work in high pressure environment.
Contract type: Permanent contract subject to successful completion of 6-month probation period.
Remuneration: R14 000 - 18 000 (neg.) depending on experience, medical aid option, provident fund.
Starting date: As soon as possible.
