Web based UX Developer

My client in Cape Town is a newly formed bioinformatics company operating out of the South African National Bioinformatics Institute (SANBI) at the University of the Western Cape. They focus on research and solutions that leverage DNA data for the treatment of HIV. In particular, a suite of tools has been developed for detecting HIV drug resistance.
The main responsibility of this role is to develop and maintain the website that provides the user interface to those tools. The functionality of this website includes: user authentication, data upload to a secure server and meaningful presentation of complex results. The user interface must be intuitive, aesthetically pleasing and streamlined. This is an ongoing, full-time position. The underlying computational tool suite is under continuous development and expansion.
The successful candidate must have experience using a modern front-end Javascript framework. Experience with Amazon Web Services and SSL certificate administration would advantageous. Specific framework experience will be considered, but more important is the candidates general software development approach and attitude. We are looking to add someone who is self-motivated and keen to learn new skills.
