Only Cape Town residents may apply please. Africa Geographic is looking for a passionate individual with experience in website development to join the team.

This position requires a self-driven, diligent individual with a passion for online and for Africa. The right candidate must have strong coding skills, knowledge of the online industry and a good idea of the digital marketing environment. A strong passion for the exciting world of travel, wildlife and conservation is also an essential requirement when working at Africa Geographic.

Responsibilities include:

- Editing blog and website backend

- Adding and customising widgets/plug-ins to suit requirements

- Uploading of website/blog content

- Creating, editing and designing graphics

- Managing email address databases

- Creating and editing email templates

Requirements

- Proficient in CSS/HTML 5 and PHP

- Proficient in WordPress

- Proficient in Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator

- A good understanding of social media sites e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Google +

- Knowledge of Mailchimp/similar

Advantageous

- Knowledge of JavaScript advantageous
