Our client, a copper mining company, based in Zambia would like to appoint a Winding Plant Engineer at their operations. The company is one of the major copper producing companies in Zambia.
Reporting to the Engineering Superintendent, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintenance and repair of Winding Plants.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with GCC Electrical (Mines and works)
• At least 7 years specific experience on winders in a mining environment.
• Experience on Double Drum Winders will be an added advantage.
• Should be proficient in AutoCAD/Micro Station, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Must have valid EIZ and ERB practicing certificates.
• Modern thyristor type winders also extensively controlled by modern state of the art electronics and PLCs. Also these winders are BMR winders or Blair Multi Rope winders.
DUTIES WILL AMONG OTHERS, INCLUDES:
• Role would be to set the standards and maintain the regimes and systems – and then to monitor and audit to ensure compliance.
• Checking all designs for winding plants and associated equipment for the shaft project.
• Checking construction work in progress.
• Supervising erection and commissioning of winders and all associated equipment.
• Liaison with Mines Safety Department.
OTHER INFORMATION:
• 3-Year Contract, extendable for further periods if you have performed well during the initial contract.
• Also a residential position as opposed to a fly-in-fly-out position.
• The successful candidate must be result oriented and have the ability to work with own initiative, paying particular attention to Company policies and Corporate objectives.
