One of our clients, a leader in the online media/publishing industry, is looking for a journalist to research and write news and feature articles on a variety of topics from economics to tourism. Candidates should have journalistic experience with a bend towards research.

The successful incumbent should have the relevant tertiary qualification (preferably a diploma/degree) in Journalism, English or Communications.

At least 3-5 years working experience as a journalist. Excellent writing skills are a must, as is accuracy and attention to detail.

They will be required to perform amongst other duties the following:
• Follow up on leads supplied by the editor
• Generate new leads and develop a set of contacts
• Write news and feature articles
• Comfortable working in a collaborative, competitive, fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines
• Take photographs to accompany articles and source appropriate photographs were necessary
• Attend functions during and after hours
