"I like my company"

I have been working for Mintek for six years and glad to see all the transformations under the first black CEO, Mr Mngomezulu. At Mintek we have enough leave and study leave days per annum. They encourage employees to study further and even pay for our study fees. Employees who complete their qualifications are awarded a once-off incentive. The company organises ABET classes for employees who don't have matric. The CEO introduced suggestion boxes when he first started at the company. The suggestion box is a forum where employees put in writing their complaints or issues that might affect the company. I have tried to be on the job market just to explore a new environment. Fortunately, I am too expensive and other companies cannot afford my current salary. I am proud to be a Mintekker.

"No proper mentorship"

I worked for mintek for about one year of which I was later asked to resign. The company lacks proper development programs for newly appointed employees. There is luck of mentorship and as such, most of the newly appointed employees do not stay long. The company handles profitable research projects that needs to be handled with maximum care. A newly appointed engineer can not be left to handle a project on their own without a mentor. This might only be a plot so that you can be blamed alone for some errors. If things have not changed from the time I left, then I wouldn't recommend someone to work for this company.
