A new plant-based restaurant set in the heart of Cape Town is looking for a vibrant and experienced individual to fulfill both Barista and Front of House duties. The ideal candidate would have previous restaurant experience (plant-based experience advantageous), knowledge of the hospitality industry, and quality customer service skills. This person will be the bright smile that determines the mood for all in the restaurant.

Requirements:

• Previous Barista and general restaurant experience
• Well-groomed and articulate
• Friendly and welcoming
• Energetic and likeable personality
• Sales experience (advantageous)
• Willing to work shifts

Duties:

• Brewing coffee and other caffeinated products
• Making smoothies
• Keeping equipment fully functional and following operation instructions
• Always greeting the customers in a friendly manner
• Ringing up purchases and accepting payments
• Issuing receipts on the POS system by capturing customers’ details on each purchase, and ensuring this is done on as many purchases possible
• Balancing the till at the end of the day
• Wrapping, packing and serving the customers their meals/ beverages
• Always ensuring the food is well-presented
• Knowledgeable of the items on the menu, as you will be working in the front
• Always being helpful and polite
• Any other tasks that are reasonably required by management
• Ensure the area of responsibility is kept clean and tidy
• Monitor overall feel, look and cleanliness of restaurant

Candidates who have successfully passed their interviews will be required to complete a three-hour test shift.
