Food & Beverage Manager – Luxury Beach Lodge KZN North Coast

Our luxury beach lodge set in a natural wetland reserve is looking for an experienced F & B Manager to join our dynamic team and take our F & B services to the next level. Will suit a hospitality all-rounder who knows understands the big picture.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Hospitality Diploma or tertiary qualification in F&B Management
• Computer Literate – Opera/SEMPER/IQ, Microsoft WORD, EXCEL/Microsoft Office, Email/Outlook
• English speaking, fluent in written and spoken English
• Zulu (Speak) – certainly a great benefit
• Driver’s License valid PDP essential
• Valid First Aid Certification
• South African Citizen
• Physically fit (this is a busy job that requires walking & being on one’s feet), sober habits and in good health
• Prepared to live and work in a remote but beautiful beach and bush environment

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE:
• Previous work experience of AT LEAST 3 years in F & B management roles in related lodge environments.
• Management experience in luxury lodge environment – and a diverse and intense property
• Focus on Guest experience delivery from kitchen (back of house) & bar and waitron departments (front of house)
• Accustomed to reporting systems – Daily & Weekly; presenting month end packs to Operations & Finance Depts
• Understanding of budget control and financial management and planning
• HR functions of the lodge
• Hands on staff management and staff disciplinary process
• Delicately manage community staff and drive the development/upliftment process of employees
• Eye for detail excellent food and beverage management &front office skills
• Experience and ability to train staff
• Benefit to have a love for the ocean and beach environment

TASKS / RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Food & Beverage:Guest delight/wow moments, Quality of product, Orders, Waste management, Administration, Staffing
• Front of House - hospitality duties, guest interaction, hosting, seating plan; bar set up and standards maintained; check pool & beach deck areas serviced by bar
• Finance - stock controls & stocktaking, month end spreadsheets
• Administration –normal associated admin tasks with this position
• HR –Disciplinary hearings; monitoring sick leave; staff rosters
• Curio Shop – F & B stock
