On exciting opportunity exist with a well-known hotel group. Our client requires the services of a Management Couple for a 5 start lodge in the Kruger National Park.
SCOPE AND GENERAL PURPOSE
1. Effectively manage the day to day operations , consistent with Company Standards and to achieve optimum financial results and better budget.
2. Implement policies and procedures, as agreed with the General Manager: Operations to ensure operations, financial controls, standards are being met.
3. Implement reporting structures to ensure that information are readily available, so that GM can in turn report weekly and daily to the CEO.
4. Financial Management through the Financial Manager based at the XRM office.
5. Building of relationships with all major suppliers to ensure effective business relations.
6. Represent XRM in dealing with staff, guests, suppliers and owners.
7. Achieve good communication and to interpret and enforce agreed management decisions, policies and attitudes to achieve XRM objectives.
8. Instill a culture of learning and assist in creating a company for staff and customers.

RESPONSIBLE FOR
1. Management and staff of all departments
LIMITS OF AUTHORITY
1. Implement “one-up” hiring, dismissal, and transfer policy with respect to Management and Senior Staff.
2. Capital expenditure, in conjunction with General Manager, as per company procedure.
3. No aesthetic changes without permission.
4. May not make statements to the press.
5. Organize all subordinates as she/he sees fit, according to Group Standards and Basic Conditions of Employment Act.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Financial
1. Control costs and expenses whilst maximizing revenues thus achieving optimum profitability.
2. Implement controls to manage revenue and costs effectively through policies and procedures set
3. Compilation of budgets, to ensure the efficient and most profitable running of the lodge.
4. Understand and interpret the financial accounts on a monthly basis.
5. Prioritize capital expenditure requirements.
6. Control salaries and wages focusing on reducing labour costs. Marketing & Sales
7. Identify unit needs and market trends and through liaison with marketing, sales and group F&B Departments implement appropriate policies timeously.
8. Building of relationships with all major suppliers to ensure effective business relations.
Administration
1. Ensure that all unit reports, as required by XRM are correct and timeously submitted.
2. Be aware of and control all contracts.
3. Be aware of all lodge legal matters and action appropriately Human Resources
4. Effectively monitor unit management and strive for ongoing development and high morale of the entire workforce through training, communication and interaction between unit management and staff.
5. Identify management potential and development needs and agree appropriate action with General Manager
6. Implement job descriptions and company performance appraisal procedures.
7. Oversee training plans and manage all internal industrial relations issues.
7 Ensure all statutory obligations relating to Employment Equity Act, Skills Development Act, Broad Based Black Economic Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Labour Relations Act and Occupational Health and Safety Act are met.
4. Implement a Social Responsibility Programme at unit level that benefits local community.
Communications
1. Ensure effective communication through the continuous and undistorted flow of information between unit, XRM, management and staff by holding regular meetings as per agreed schedule.
Standards
1. Maintain and improve agreed physical, behavioural and quality standards.
External Environment
1. Participate in agreed external bodies.
2. Establish environmental monitoring systems in own area.
Maintenance
1. Monitor and control the Maintenance Department.
2. Co-ordinate all major Repairs and Maintenance.
3. Co-ordinate special projects.
4. Instigate a planned maintenance system for both properties
Lodge Operations
1. Review and be aware of VIP’S in house.
2. Uphold Lodge appearance and discipline of all staff.
Performance Standards / Objectives
1. Withhold staff turnover to 10% year on year.
2. Uphold cost control.
3. Have introduced and actioned operating equipment control and not exceed budgeted expenditure.
4. See the property is maintained and cleanliness is to the set standard.
Offered:
· Salary: negotiable dependent on experience & qualifications, plus meals on duty, accommodation & uniform
Other Requirements:
· Valid RSA ID is required
· Valid Driver’s Licence with PDP
· Minimum of 5 years’ experience with proven track record within a 5 star lodge environment
· NOTE: Company Retirement Age is 60
· No pets are allowed on the concession unfortunately
