This well-established transport company has the following vacancy for a dynamic and success driven candidate to join their team.

GENERAL MANAGER: LONG DISTANCE TRANSPORT OPERATIONS
UPINGTON

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant qualification.
- At least 10 years Long Haul / Flat deck Transport experience at management level.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must have good understanding of financials and statistics.
- Be an analytical and technical person.
- Project Management skills will be essential.
- Taking ownership and leading the operational activities of the Company.
- Participating in commercial strategy, sales and marketing activities.

Key Accountabilities:

- To manage and oversee the Northern/Western Cape regional operations consisting of line-haul fleet.
- Ensure that the regional operation achieves all targets namely, required revenue, monthly km production targets, depot turn-around times, year on year growth, PBIT, ROIC etc.
- To ensure optimal planning of fleet.
- To ensure sustainability of the regional operation.
- Ensure that facilities (workshops) and equipment are maintained and in good working order.
- Build and maintain sound relationships with market in this region.
- Ensure that the company meets all SHEQ/HSE, Safety, Quality and on time delivery requirements of our customers.
- Involved with all project’s costings
- Ensure that follow up project’s audits are undertaken to ensure any potential problems are highlighted and rectified.
- Attend company’s monthly management meeting and will report on achievements, problems / challenges, volumes, efficiencies, and opportunities.
- Ensure that the company is providing our customer with a cost effective, reliable, and quality service.
- Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by management
