We are looking for that “HIDDEN GEM”, one-of-a-kind, young, charismatic, charming, passionate, intelligent, attractive, classy, dynamic, confident, driven lady to take on this exciting role at one of Cape Towns most talked about, trendy, hip and happening luxury boutique hotels.
The IDEAL candidate will answer YES to all of the following:
Do you have experience in Hotel Reception, Concierge, Hosting and Engaging with Guests
Have you travelled extensively or possess a “global mind-set”?
Do you have a very strong personality and the ability to “read people” and situations?
Can you adapt to changing guests needs and anticipate guest requirements?
Do you enjoy coordinating events, liaising with VIP’s & celebrities, working with film & advertising crews?
Are you well-spoken, confident around people and assert yourself in social circles?
Can you easily manipulate awkward situations and circumstances to your best advantage?
Responsibilities
Provide upscale guest service experiences for clients throughout their stay
Ensure clients are properly greeted on arrival
Monitor daily bookings and ensure assigned rooms are prepared prior to check-in
Coordinate luggage collection and storage
Oversee check-in and check-out procedures, including reservations and financial transactions
Address guests’ requests promptly, like in-room dining etc
Actively listen to and resolve complaints
Ensure special guests, like VIPs, film crews etc receive personalized service and attention
Coordinate and manage communication between guests and staff and follow up to resolve issues
Inform guests of all hotel services, including breakfast and dining options, special hotel benefits etc
Promote all hotel amenities, conveniences and programmes available
Liaise with all departments to prepare for guests optimal / ultimate experience
Check daily activities, events and ensure excellent levels of awareness in the hotel
Analyze and follow-up on customer/guest feedback to improve hotel ratings / guest experience
Recommend local tourist spots, including places to dine, shop and sight-see
Establish friendly & professional relationships with hotel guests
Requirements
Proven work experience as a Guest Relations Officer, Receptionist, Front of House Host
Understanding of all hotel systems, restaurant operations, accommodation services
Hands-on / working experience with Hotel Management software (PMS) OPERA
Proficiency in English; knowledge of other FOREIGN languages is a huge advantage
Customer service drive with outstanding communication and active listening skills
Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills
Leadership skills along with the ability to motivate others into high performance
Ability to work flexible / odd hours
Strong sense of responsibility and a professional highly attractive presentation
National Diploma in Hospitality Management, Tourism, Business Administration or relevant field
