We have an immediate need for a Human Resources Assistant with 5 to 8 years of professional experience in the General Service category within the United Nations.

About Our Client
Our client is an established global organisation with sites across the globe.

Preferably people who are not from Congo. Other African nations or South Africans are most gladly welcome to apply.
Their role is to serve as a contact between the HR department and the rest of the organization. They prepare files and forms for new employees, update employment status and help new employees get access to the recourses they need to do their job. HR Assistants sort and update records, dispose of old records properly and contact employees to update their contact information and other key documents.
Below are some essential skills and qualifications:
• Successful candidate must have an associate degree in HR or a related field (bachelor’s degree preferred)
• Candidate must have a minimum of 5 -8 years’ experience in an administrative role
• Candidate must have strong communication skills
• Candidate must be able to quickly resolve people’s problems
• Candidate must be familiar with database systems and common HR applications

The successful candidate will be:
• English and French speaking and able to comminucate, understand and interpret at a high level of linguistic competence
• NGO HR experience and HR best practice.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, with the ability to influence people at all levels.
• Creative, flexible, with a proactive approach to problem solving.
• Proficient in all MS applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Evidences a collaborative approach and the ability to work well with a broad group of colleagues.
• Highly motivated, deadline focused with the ability to consistently maintain high level of accuracy.
• Ability to research and present options with recommendations.
• Ability to build relationships with stakeholders

Job Description
Some of the key responsibilities of the HR Officer are:
• Support required activities for employee representative and other regulatory bodies.
• Support activities that drive efficiency, local practices and enhance customer service.
• Actively contribute to People Experience process improvements, to promote best practice and efficiency.
• Work in compliance with local Employment Laws and Company precedence.
• Support the issuing of employment contracts, ensuring accuracy in data, that they are up to date with legislation changes, aligned to country employment law, and that any changes to employment T&Cs are captured accurately.
• Support business Managers at investigation meetings, always seeking to minimise both risk to business and fairness to employee.
• Support business Managers with the Performance Management Process and follow up to ensure that plans are being actioned.
