TECHNICAL MANAGER (ENGINEER)
UPINGTON AREA

Requirements:
- The appointee must have at least a B Eng. degree or equivalent with minimum 10 years’ experience in Power Plants, preferably in CSP plants in an operational capacity enhanced in utilizing the Facility Power Model (FPM).
?- High level knowledge and experience with thermal Facility processes (thermodynamics), fluid mechanics and equipment mechanics (pumps, boilers, turbines, heat exchangers).
- Experience in the management of SCADA Systems is essential.
- Extensive experience in the maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment and/or instrumentation and control equipment.
- Your professional profile should further include excellent proven human management skills, effective verbal and written communication skills including report writing, budgeting and computer literacy, data analyses, attention to detail
- Driver`s license.

Responsibilities of the appointee will include the following
- To ensure that the management of the Project Company are kept up to date and provided with sufficient information regarding plant operational activities
- Calculation and assessment functions related to contractual Performance guarantees utilizing the Facility Power Model,
- Control and review of annual performance ratios --
- Understanding and responding to Eskom, DoE and NERSA related requirements and related matters, i.e.
- Ensure all Grid Code Compliance certificate matters with RETEC are complied with
- Assessing, monitoring, managing and reporting & notifications of plant risks to the Project Company and its stakeholders
- Monitor the Operator to achieve the optimal performance and revenue of the plant
- Evaluate Operator daily production reports and prepare performance data
- Monitoring, analyzing and report on plant breakdowns and evaluation/feedback on Root cause analysis
- Evaluate impact on production utilizing the contractual mechanisms
- Advise and implement insurance risk mitigation strategies based on insurance risk advisors’ recommendations
- Liaise with Lender Technical Advisor
- Advise on Lender queries
- Confirmation of monthly generation, work with the finance team on invoices relating to technical matters and disputes
- Preparation of the technical reports and documents to external stakeholders (Lenders, DOE etc)
- Supervise third party technical advisors/service providers example Independent Engineer
- Monitoring the day to day Operational & Maintenance activities according to the relevant Contract documents
- Supervise and analyze the schedule activities, ensure that the critical path is achieved related to the execution of Variation proposals
- Monitoring and assess the progress of closing Warranty Claims
- Review the O&M Contractor’s operations reports, critically analyze these reports and make recommendations.
